Congratulations to this week’s Showcase Cinemas High School Team of the Week: St. Mary Academy Bay View Girls Tennis

This team has been nominated for their outstanding performance on the court, and their energy and effort to raise awareness with a pink out game supporting the Gloria Gemma foundation. And also their continued sportsmanship on and off the court, which was exemplified in the state championship finals after controversy interrupted play, and Amy Poppe secured the team victory. She chose to go and congratulate her opponent on an outstanding match, while her teammates ran onto the court to celebrate. This team was led by a tremendous class of seniors who have worked extremely hard throughout their career to elevate the program a little under a year ago, Rhode Island, tennis icon Jacques Faulise passed away. If it had not been for his commitment and influence, BAYVIEW would not be where they are today.
